Once again, it is a pleasure to be associated with The Fan AM 1060.  After having spent 7 years working at The Fan in various capacities, like board operator (sometimes bored operator depending on the program), producer, on air “talent” or whatever, I am honored to be back contributing to The Fan.

I am also looking forward to working with the Best in the World (sorry CM Punk), Bob Kemp!

During the season, I will share my thoughts on what is going on in the world of Major League of Baseball and the game known as fantasy baseball.  I am not a big “Moneyball” guy (good movie though) when it comes to evaluating player performances or giving my advice on fantasy baseball trades.  I understand that WAR (Wins Above Replacement) and splits are how many in the industry are evaluating players these days; I still like to stick to going by what I see.

There was certainly no shortage of news from the off-season whether it was for the good or the bad related to the game.  There were free agent moves, blockbuster deals and of course, the PED’s.  At the end of spring training, I will offer my predictions for the season as well as individual award predictions.

In the coming weeks before those predictions, we will cover the top 5 best and worst moves during the winter, things to watch for in the upcoming season and a preview of the Arizona Diamondbacks from an outsider’s perspective.

And since the Cactus League is kicking off in the next few days, join Bob Kemp in the Sportszone, your home for spring training at Ventura Grill, west of the 101 on Via de Ventura adjacent to the Salt River Fields for live remotes throughout  the Cactus League season.
