Every week Brett Harmon will bring you his NCAA Fottball Top 25.  Harmon is one of the 324 voters for the reddit.com College Football Top 25 poll.  You can find the rankings here.

One week of college football action is in the books and for the most part is was a warmup for pretty much everyone in the top 25.  There were a few close games, and then there was Alabama/ Michigan.

Ranking (Last Week)

1 (2)       Alabama

You don’t beat the ever loving crap out of a (now former) top ten team and make a potential Heisman candidate look like he should be in Pee Wee and not take the top spot.

2 (1)       USC

Went out and did work agonist Hawaii, they drop only because of circumstances outside of their own control.

3 (3)       LSU

Had a nice warm up in Death Valley, but things will get tougher when Washington comes to town this week.

4 (4)       Oklahoma

Not a pretty win on the road to start the season.  But a win is a win, but that offensive line is going to need to give Jones more time once they start playing tougher competition.

5 (5)       Oregon

Yeah the Ducks offense scored 57 points, but the defense also gave up 34 to Arkansas State.

6 (6)       Florida State

Seven total rushing touchdowns for the Seminoles in the season opener, not too shabby right there.

7 (10)     West Virginia

Nearly put up their second consecutive 70 point game.  Don’t care if it was versus Marshall, that’s still darn impressive, and good enough for this week’s biggest jump. Wait I think the Mountaineers just scored again.

8 (8)       Georgia

It was a slow start for the Bulldogs, but in the end they did what they were supposed to do against a MAC team.

9 (11)     Arkansas

Bobby Petrino who?  Arkansas didn’t seem to miss a beat in their first game under new head coach John L. Smith.

10 (9)     South Carolina

A potential dark horse for the national title got a scare in Vandy, but came out with the win, so no harm no foul.

11 (13)  Michigan State

Le’Von Bell lifted Sparty over Boise State; making it known that Michigan State will be a player in the Big 10 this year.

12 (12)  Wisconsin

Northern Iowa gave Wisconsin everything that they could handle, erasing their fourth quarter lead and nearly knocking off the Badgers.

13 (14)  Texas

Generally when two guys rush for 100+ and three touchdowns, you are going to win games.

14 (16)  Ohio State

The Urban Renewal couldn’t have started off better for the Buckeyes.  This year is just paving the path to next year.

15 (15)  Clemson

Whenever you can start off the season beating one of the top teams from the SEC it’s a good thing.  Even if it was a neutral site game, and I think WVU stopped scoring on Clemson finally.

16 (17)  Nebraska

Nebraska will have its hands full as they travel to the Rose Bowl.  This could be an upset in the making.

17 (7)     Michigan

Ouch, Big Blue took the biggest fall this week but when you smacked around by the Tide it’s to be expected.  Denard Robinson’s Heisman campaign might already be over as well after looking helpless in Dallas.

18 (21)  Oklahoma State

84 points.  84 points without Brandon Weedon and Justin Blackmon.  Let that sink in right there, because that offense is coming to Tucson this week.

19 (18)  Virginia Tech

It took overtime but they were able to outlast Georgia Tech.  If history tells us anything we can now pencil the Hokies into the ACC title game now.  For the past five years the winner of the Tech v. Tech game has represented the Costal division.

20 (19)  TCU

Week one bye, they’ll need all the rest they can get to take on powerhouse Grambling State next week.

21 (20)  Stanford

Last year Stanford blew out San Jose state.  But take Andrew Luck off the team and all of the sudden it’s a game.

22 (22)  Kansas State

It took until the fourth quarter to pull away from Missouri St.  We’ll see what the Wildcats really have this week when they host the U.

23 (23)  Notre Dame

Irish eyes were smiling upon the golden domers in Ireland.  Put a hurting on Navy and a nice early start for Notre Dame.

24 (25)  Washington

The Huskies have a new defensive scheme, and it looked good holding down San Diego State.  It will be put to the test this week agonist LSU.

25 (UR) Florida

Florida will get to welcome Texas A&M to the SEC this week, could be interesting considering that Bowling Green hung in there last week versus the Gators.

Biggest Jump: West Virginia 10 to 7

Biggest Fall: Michigan 7 to 17.

Top 25 games this week:

(3) LSU versus (24) Washington
